Brabin's Trade Token 1668

This copper halfpenny trade token belonged to John Brabin who set up shop and house in 1668 at what is now Brabin's Shop. Privately mined tokens were used by shopkeepers at that time because there was a shortage of small-value coins. This practice was stopped in 1672.
